Tour Guide for Turkey
Caglar grew up in a typically traditional Turkish family in a Black Sea coastal town. As a child he loved soccer, but when he broke his leg, he was make to spend lunchtimes looking up English words in the dictionary instead of playing. His plan B (since professional soccer player wasn’t going to happen) was a career in linguistics.
While at university studying linguistics and professional Tour Guiding, Caglar quickly realized that he’d have to learn his housewife mum’s recipes in order to survive! Cooking and eating are definitely two of Caglar’s favourite hobbies, and his favourite Turkish food is Hamsi, fresh anchovies, local to his home town.
Since 2005, he has loved working as a licensed Tour Guide all over Turkey. He has travelled extensively in the small groups to Europe, Asia and North America and appreciates the colourful differences and similarities of foreign cultures.
While Caglar loves teaching his guests about Turkey’s rich history, he also has the latest knowledge of the hottest bars and restaurants in Istanbul, and loves to share this knowledge.
Caglar is the expert Tour Guide for Istanbul on the The Portakal Tour. He also operates and guides tailor-made private tours on request for Mosaic Travel.
Ground Operators for Croatia
Dita began her career in travel as a student, working as a licensed tour guide. After then working as a Project Manager at a large travel agency, Dita decided to go her own way and start a small, boutique travel agency in Dubrovnik in 2007.
Her inspiration has always been the beautiful Croatian coast, nature, tradition, and history, and she loves arranging holidays tours for people to her hometown of Dubrovnik. When not running around the office, she is reading books and spending time in nature with her husband.
A Culture and Tourism Graduate, Anja joined her mother at the travel agency and with enthusiasm, creates extraordinary experiences for her clients. She has always had her heart set on travelling and organisation. In her spare time, she enjoys the beach, Dalmatian cuisine as well as skiing in the winter time.
Both are enthusiastic travellers and nature lovers.
Tour Leader for Croatia
Sue’s career has included teaching Health, Physical Education and Recreation in private schools in both Melbourne and Geelong, and running her own relocations company. In this role, she has assisted executives and their families relocating to the Geelong area from domestic and international locations.
Sue has always been fascinated by travel, and in particular, the culture, lifestyle and history of a destination. She loves to cook, so the produce on offer at local markets, and in charming cafes and restaurants is a source of constant delight – and in Croatia, the salty feta, ripe, plump tomatoes, fresh herbs, and locally caught seafood are irresistible!
Croatia offers a wide and varied travel experience. A country of fertile lands which produce fine crops. Rich soil which supports a strong wine-making industry. The warm breezes and azure seas of the Adriatic. Crystalline lakes set within lush National Parks. Narrow cobblestone walkways and seaside promenades. Engaging, friendly locals eager to show us their unique country.
Sue Heath will lead the Magnificent Croatia tour in September.
Tour Leader for Cuba
Nicole has always been passionate about travelling since her first trip to Fiji as a young girl and since then has lived and worked in several countries throughout Asia. She started working as a travel agent back in 2001 but after preparing amazing itineraries for her clients she decided it was time to get back out on the road and explore more of the world herself. She bought a round the world ticket with the idea to eventually head to London and work but only made it as far as the Caribbean where she discovered Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic and made it her home.
Nicole is particularly passionate about Cuba where she fell in love with the music, the dancing, the culture and also a Cuban. After 3 years of living in Cuba and running a small tour agency for backpackers, Nicole and her husband moved back to South Australia. She started working as a specialist wholesaler of the Caribbean and even leading small tour groups to the Dominican Republic.
Sharing her passion and love for this region is her goal and she wants to make sure that everyone who travels there returns with the same enthusiasm.
