Tiny Tassie is fast becoming renowned for being the foodie (and wine) capital of Australia. Fly into Hobart where you’ll spend a few days enjoying seafood feasts, exploring the famous markets (not just Salamanca), and of course, a visit to MONA art gallery.
Pick up a hire car and head to the wild and wonderful Bruny Island, where you can enjoy beautiful hikes, remote beaches and some of the finest produce in the region.
Oysters, whiskey, cheese and wine are all on the menu on Bruny! Back on the mainland, continue driving up the East Coast to spend a few nights in Freycinet National Park and the spectacular Bay of Fires. Meander towards Launceston, stopping at first-class wineries along the way.
Accommodation we recommend includes boutique hotels and self-contained cottages. Upgrade to the famous Saffire Lodge for an unforgettable experience. We recommend hiring a car in Tasmania, although you could easily stay in Hobart for a week and do organised day trips. Spend at least a week in Tasmania.
